Business Control Systems, LP (BCS) Returns to the Class room

 

Through a partnership between Business Control Systems, LP (BCS) and the Greater Dallas Chamber, 6 BCS employees went back to the classroom at Sarah Zumwalt Middle School this year to participate in the Texas Scholars Program.

The Texas Scholars Program invites local business professionals to eighth-grade classrooms to explain the importance of students taking the right courses during their approaching high school years. According to the Texas Business Education Coalition, students who enroll in the courses catalogued by the Texas Scholars Recommended High School Program are better prepared for a college or university curriculum, a career in the military or a well-paying job.

"The Greater Dallas Chamber works with area businesses to address workforce and readiness issues through the Texas Scholars Program," says Jack Trompert, “Vice President Business Development”. "BCS's participation provides the students with positive role models and a firsthand look at the many career choices available to them."

This is the tenth year of BCS's partnership with the Greater Dallas Chamber. This year, BCS employees reached more than 150 eighth-graders at Sarah Zumwalt in South Dallas. Overall, the Texas Scholars program was presented to more than 11,000 students in the Dallas Independent School District this fall.
