Business Control Systems, LP (BCS), continues to stress Importance of education.

Business Control Systems, LP (BCS) is proud to continue their participation in the annual Texas Scholars Program for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). During the last week of October 2008 more than 11,363 eighth graders will hear a presentation encouraging higher education by comparing the realistic cost of living and salaries for high school graduates versus individuals with associate’s degrees and above.

BCS is one of 22 Greater Dallas Chamber members who provide DISD’s 29 middle school districts with the 110 volunteers it takes to stress the importance of higher education to students before they begin their high school curriculum.

Jack Trompert , Vice President of Business Development and an avid Texas Scholars Program supporter, had this to say: “We have supported this program for almost 10 years. As a company we believe it is the Dallas business community’s responsibility to help create an educated workforce for the future. We are happy to take an active role in helping students make the right choices.”

BCS is a long-term sponsor of the Texas Scholars Program, working with Bealey Middle School in North Dallas and Zumwalt in South Dallas. The company has emphasized the value of a good education in various community roles for a number of years. BCS’ CEO, Bernie Francis, currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Regents for the Texas State University System, a policy setting authority for nine Texas colleges and universities. He is also the recent past chair of the Board of Regents for Texas State Technical College.

When asked about the Texas Scholars Program, Mr. Francis said, “It’s as simple as breathing to understand our business interest in higher education. Because we are a technical and professional services firm, we are customers of colleges and universities …the students are our future employees. In the big picture, it’s a shrewd practice to do all we can to invest in the quality of our future.”
